What a basement scope can cover
- Framing and layout — rooms planned around the columns, ducts, and beams that are already there.
- Insulation and air sealing — the difference between a finished basement and a cold one.
- Egress and safety — windows and exits addressed as part of the plan, not discovered at inspection.
- Bathrooms and wet bars — where the drain and the head height will support them.
- Flooring, drywall, trim, and paint — the finish work that makes it read as part of the house.
- Storage and mechanical access — keeping the furnace and water heater reachable after the walls go in.
Basements are where moisture, head height, and mechanical runs decide the plan, so those get looked at first rather than worked around later.
Electrical and plumbing on our projects are delivered through a vetted network of trade subcontractors — we do not hold trade licenses ourselves and will not pretend to. Work remains subject to applicable local licensing and permit requirements.
How a basement finish runs
- Reach out — tell us the space and what you want it to be: bedrooms, family room, office, shop.
- We confirm service area, scope, and capacity — including whether the space supports the plan.
- Layout, egress, mechanicals, and finishes are settled — with you, and in writing.
- Written scope, then the build — scheduled work, one company answering for it start to finish.
We will tell you honestly if a project falls outside our current service area or capacity.
Common questions
Can I put a bedroom down there?
It depends on egress and on what the space will support. Egress is a real requirement, not a formality, and it is one of the first things we look at rather than one of the last.
What about moisture?
It gets looked at before anything is framed. Finishing over a moisture problem is the most expensive way to postpone it, and we would rather tell you about it while the walls are still open concrete.
Can we add a bathroom?
Often, and it turns on the drain and the head height. Both are checked before the scope is written, not after the framing is up.
Do you handle permits?
Permitting is part of how a job gets planned. Work remains subject to applicable local licensing and permit requirements, and requirements vary by jurisdiction — we will tell you what your project needs rather than promise an outcome.
